About Barb West

A card-holding barrel racer since 2001, Barb West wears her buckles and drives her prized Dodge truck with pride!

Known by her competitors and friends as "Wicked" West for her wicked horsemanship in and out of the arena, Barb is the 2009 Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo (DNCFR) Champion, a Columbia River Circuit Final Champion, and a world record breaker for her '16.735' timed run in 2007 at the Brn4d Final 1D Championship - all titles that she proudly shares with her now retired riding partner, Scottie Too Hottie aka 'Scottie'.

After working extensively with her three new racing partners Cashup to Me aka 'Spin', Frenchmans Wild Guy aka 'Fry Guy' and Shesa Roan Peppy aka 'Stella', West is back on the circuit and is looking forward to bringing all three of her new horses to Texas with her in January 2014.

Along with her passion for barrel racing, Barb is also a horse trainer and stunt performer, specializing in horse stunts for film which have included fire stunts, fight scenes, stair falls and driving stunts. She has appeared in a long list of movies and doubled for many celebrities including Drew Barrymore and Cheryl Ladd and was recently cast in the new reality show RODEO GIRLS which airs on A&E for a double premiere on December 11 & 12, 2013. When not on the road or competing in rodeo, you can find Barb at home in Oak Harbor, Washington with tie-down roper and husband Brian West. They live happily with their two miniature Daschounds on 15 acres filled with large Evergreen trees, an indoor/outdoor horse training facility and the horses that they love.
